Many years later, one of the children of Candido Jacuzzi was born with rheumatoid arthritis. Seeking an at-home treatment for Ken the brothers designed a portable aeration pump based on their knowledge in hydraulics, that when submerged in a bathtub could provide pain relieving treatment. The J-300™ invention was quickly celebrated as the beginning of an era for hydro therapeutic relief in your own home. It held the power alone to transform any bath into a place of relaxation and rejuvenation for the masses. Jacuzzi® Hot Tubs was born and quickly became a household name.

In 1968, third-generation family member Roy Jacuzzi brought HydroTherapy™ to a new level. Having worked in the family business since he was a teenager, he was the first to ever integrate jets into the side of a tub, naming it after the ancient civilization known for understanding the benefits of hot water. The Roman had patented jets that delivered a 50/50 air-to-water ratio. We use the same air-to-water ratio today and even have some jets that can deliver up to 90/10 ratio without hurting your skin. It is this type of innovation from those like Roy that provided us with a perfect balance between air and water, an equilibrium, and was instrumental in creating a whole new industry that imprinted the name Jacuzzi® in our minds forever.

Around this time, Jacuzzi invented larger hot tubs for groups of people. Building heating and filtration systems that could  sustain steady water temperatures and keep water clean. For the first time in modern history anyone could indulge in socialization, rejuvenation and relaxation in the comfort of their own homes. 

During the 1980s Jacuzzi focused on enhancing the experiences that come with owning a hot tub. They introduced models that could be installed indoors or out and incorporated waterfalls that were both ambient and soothing, turning our backyards into a favorite place for relaxation and entertainment.

Among Roy’s many accomplishments earning him induction into the National Kitchen & Bath Hall of Fame, Jacuzzi was the first with the bold claim that a hot tub was as fun as many other backyard activities. They created more energy-efficient hot tubs, more colors and more optional features than ever before.
